Fragments by Dan Wells
*spoiler free review*
*I got this book as an ARC from Epic Reads.
After I finished this book I rated it a mere 3 out of 5 stars until I started really thinking about everything that happened.
Partials ended with Kira finding the cure for RM as well as finding out that she is a new type of Partial that they hadn't come across... Ever.
Fragments is about Kira's journey to self discovery.. She has already found the RM cure but doesn't know how to synthesize it. She sets off on a trip to discover secrets that were meant to stay hidden. On her way to ParaGen headquarters she meets up with Samm and Heron who join Kira on her trek to the truth about what she is. During the duration of Kira's trip Dr. Morgan's partials take East Meadow hostage in an attempt to find Kira(for more testing) which causes Marcus to take matters into his own hands and step up to help save East Meadow. Kira's self discovery may help save the world or destroy it...
I took a step back after reading the book(which I was intensely immersed in for 3 days) and though about it as a TRILOGY which, obviously, it is! I realized I was being biased because I wanted to know what happened in the end so I change my rating to a 4 star. As you can tell... I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK. It left off so INTENSE.

Partials by Dan Wells
Synopsis: The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials--engineered organic beings identical to humans--has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.
Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what's left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she's not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them--connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.
My opinion: Hmm.. I don't know how many people think like I do but I was not the biggest fan of YA dystopian novels. They were popping up everywhere as if no one had any orginal ideas. Therefore, I was hesitant to read this because I thought it was going to be the same thing that I have read before. IT'S NOT. This is not a love triangle, sweet, romance type of dystopian novel which I love! It's a medical mystery that in order to cure will unravel many deep secrets humans did not want seeing the light of day. Conspiracies, cover ups, and sabotages basically sums up what you will read in the book.
On a side note: There is minimal romance in this book, but I am rooting for Team Kira & Samm (with two M's)

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski
Synopsis:
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.
Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.
With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.
But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?
My opinion: WOW, there's always that one book that you read and it blows all the others out of the water. Let's just say that this book is INTENSE, EMOTIONAL, AND SEXY!!! Andrew and Cam's relationship is so raw and intriquing, they're the missing pieces to each other. Cam is dealing with what life has given her and needed a break from doing the same thing over and over again... So she takes a trip to no where. She meets Andrew, sparks fly and they take the trip of a lifetime. Both Andrew and Cam are secrets that make or break the friendship... In the end, all is revealed... So will they stand strong or crumble?
Raring: 5 out of 5. I loved this book and took my time reading it because I didn't want it to end!!

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
Synopsis: She is pretty and talented - sweet sixteen and never been kissed. He is seventeen; gorgeous and on the brink of a bright future. And now they have fallen in love. But... they are brother and sister.Seventeen-year-old Lochan and sixteen-year-old Maya have always felt more like friends than siblings. Together they have stepped in for their alcoholic, wayward mother to take care of their three younger siblings. As defacto parents to the little ones, Lochan and Maya have had to grow up fast. And the stress of their lives—and the way they understand each other so completely—has also also brought them closer than two siblings would ordinarily be. So close, in fact, that they have fallen in love. Their clandestine romance quickly blooms into deep, desperate love. They know their relationship is wrong and cannot possibly continue. And yet, they cannot stop what feels so incredibly right. As the novel careens toward an explosive and shocking finale, only one thing is certain: a love this devastating has no happy ending.
My Opinion:
WAHHHHHHH!!!!
I DON'T EVER WANT TO READ THIS BOOK AGAIN!!!
Lochan and Maya are so disastrously perfect!Their love is so wrong, its TABOO.
If you're going to be creeped out or grossed out.. DON'T read this book.
Throughout the whole book you get sucked up into a whirlwind of emotions that both Lochan AND Maya are feeling.. you see how they live and why/how they develop feelings for each other!
Lochan and Maya are basically parents to their 3 younger siblings since their dad left them and their mom is more concerned with what she is wearing to go out on a date each night. Completely alone and ignored by their parents, Lochan and Maya depend solely on EACH OTHER<3
What happens when something you know cannot happen... does.
I couldn't handle the end of this book, I was crying my eyes out.. so powerful and emotional.
Rate: 4.5 out of 5 stars... I recommend it, read it if you think you can handle it.
